Research Collaboration: Innovative Study on Surgical Accident Insurance Products

Collaborating with Air Force Medical University and Hubei University of Medicine

I. Collaboration Background

In response to China’s "Healthy China" strategy and to advance the integration of medical risk management and insurance services, our company has established a collaborative partnership with Air Force Medical University and Hubei University of Medicine. Together, we will conduct specialized research on surgical accident insurance product design. By integrating medical data with insurance modeling across disciplines, we aim to develop more precise and inclusive surgical risk protection solutions, mitigating the financial burden of intraoperative accidents for both patients and healthcare providers.

II. Research Scope

1. Quantitative Clinical Risk Analysis

Collaborating with medical school experts, we will establish a tiered risk assessment model based on anonymized surgical case data from Shaanxi and Hubei regions. This model will cover diverse surgical types, patient demographics, and complication scenarios.

2. Innovative Insurance Product Design

Multi-tiered Coverage: Customized premiums and compensation standards aligned with surgical risk levels (e.g., Grade 1–4 surgeries).

Dynamic Pricing: Optimized premium fairness by incorporating variables such as patient age and underlying medical conditions.

Value-Added Services: Exploration of supplemental benefits, including postoperative rehabilitation compensation and legal aid for medical disputes.

3. Policy and Implementation Research

Analysis of synergies between medical liability insurance and surgical accident insurance, with proposals for compliant and scalable product models based on Hubei’s healthcare policies.

III. Collaborative Advantages

✔ Data Support: Clinical databases from affiliated hospitals of both universities provide authentic risk samples.
✔ Interdisciplinary Expertise: Joint research by experts in medicine, insurance, and law.
✔ Pilot Resources: Priority product simulation and validation in partner hospitals.

IV. Societal Impact

Reduces financial pressure on patients facing surgical accidents, improving healthcare coverage.

Provides risk-pooling tools for medical institutions, optimizing doctor-patient relationship management.

Delivers precise pricing frameworks for the insurance industry, driving product innovation.

V. Future Collaboration

Research outcomes will be disseminated through academic journals, industry forums, and government policy channels. Product pilots will be actively promoted. We welcome participation from medical institutions, insurance peers, and policy research organizations!
